“Leo and I were literally straight on the tip [of the boat], and we were about to go down slowly with the ship. It was a night shoot and we were outside and it was very, very cold, and we were up there on this tip literally, a hundred foot in the air, absolutely petrified, and they were adjusting the camera angle and Leo and I just hung on to each other for dear life. We had cigarettes hidden in the pockets of our costumes and the two of us literally were having conversations like ,’What would happen if we died?’ and I’d say things like ‘Leo, I love you, I really do love you so much. You are a very important person to me and I’d have your babies. I would, I’d have your babies, really, it’s fine. And help me God, dear God, please tell my mum that I love her dearly’. We were so, so scared. But that’s the nature of the game. You look back on it and it was all completely thrilling and compelling-every day.”-Kate Winslet

jarridwilson:

1) You always carry a bible.
2) You have a cross tattooed on your right shoulder.
3) Your refrigerator is covered in bible verse magnets.
4) You have a bumper sticker that says, “Jesus is my homeboy.”
Sound familiar?
Don’t get me wrong. All of these things are great. But when your faith in Jesus stops and ends with appearance, you’ve got to stop and realize you’re heading down a road of false assurance.
To be honest, It’s easy to live in America as a closet Christian. To buy Christian clothing, stickers and accessories, and proudly wear them because you attend Church once every couple weeks.
Here is something that might sting a little bit. I say this because I love you. Just because you believe in Him, doesn’t mean you will end up with Him.
My Point: “even the demons believe in Him.” (James 2:19)
The real issue isn’t whether you wear enough sparkly cross t-shirts, it’s whether you’re allowing the Christian message to go deeper than your closet and jewelry box.
It’s time to go deeper. It’s time to end closet Christianity and engage in a faith that penetrates the core of your soul.
Holding a bible doesn’t make you a Christian, just like holding a basketball doesn’t make you Kobe Bryant.

spiritualinspiration:

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1, NLT) So many people today get down and discouraged because they only focus on their present circumstances. They’re constantly dwelling on their problems, what they don’t have, and what’s wrong with them. They don’t realize it, but they’re allowing the enemy to steal their hope. This negative frame of mind is what keeps people from moving forward in life.
Understand today that faith is confidence and assurance about the things we hope for according to the promises of God. Like an arrow, your faith points to the target of hope. If you don’t have hope, that arrow of faith has nothing to aim for. It won’t accomplish anything. But when you keep your hopes up, when you keep expecting and believing, it’s like making that target larger and larger and easier to hit!
Choose today to live with an attitude of expectancy. Don’t focus on your circumstances; focus on your God! Get your hopes up! Take captive every negative thought. As you focus on God’s goodness and faithfulness, you’ll feel that hope inside of you growing. Give your faith a target and move forward confidently in the direction of your dreams!
